As a subsidiary under Edw. A.Olsen Co. Ltd., Artsteel is bounded to 146 years of fine craftmanship Since 1856 The master blacksmith Edw. A. Olsen established his fine blacksmith and locksmith workshop in 1856, in Oslo, the capital of Norway. At the premises of Etterstadgaten 8, in a labor populated area of Oslo, called Vaalerenga he started with a forge and two assistants. He was succeeded by his son, master blacksmith Erling A. Olsen who saw it as his duty to tutor his grandson John E. Olsen in the craftsmanship of blacksmithing. As the president of the company, John E. Olsen oversee the design and quality of the company's product line and is committed to follow the long family tradition of true craftsmanship. The current production is located in Thailand.
